When I landed in Uzbekistan, I had absolutely no idea what I was in for. Yet, I never expected to be surprised, inspired, awestruck and educated in so many different ways, in such a consistent fashion. These are my thoughts and memories from a week that hit me on so many levels.

Growing up on Curaçao, I had no idea how significant the island had been throughout a lot of the best and worst parts of history. My first trip back as an adult opened my eyes to some of these things, but also reminded me why I love the place so much, and why it will always be a big part of who I am.
